Protest staged against abductions

Imphal, October 28: Protest demonstrations were respectively staged today at Khongman and Lamphel areas in connection with the abduction of three Engineers of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and bomb attack at the Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai residence of one Mayengbam Jiteswar Singh.

Large number of people of Khongman area joined the protest organised jointly by Khongman Students' Club and local meira paibis.

The protestors conveying fervent appeal to the abductors to release the captives on humanitarian ground also highlight anxiety and distress of family members of the three Engineers.

During the protest session held at Lamphel Sana Keithel under the joint aegis of Lamphel Sana Keithel Development Authority, Lamphel Sana Keithel Nupi Kanglup and Thangmeiband Apunba Meira Paibi the protestors strongly condemn the act of hurling bombs at residential areas on October 22.A young girl suffered minor injuries in the attack.
