Imphal, January 27: Reacting to a news item published in the January 26 edition of The Sangai Express under the headline �FCS official in PDS soup� the official concerned Md Ahamed Ali (LDC/FCS) categorically rejected the report and clarified his position on the matter.

In a statement issued to the today, Ahamed Ali contended that quota of FCS items rice and sugar were handed over to nominees/beneficiaries of MLAs of the respective constituencies in compliance with normal procedures of Government order and under instruction of the Deputy Commissioner/Churachandpur.

Pointing out that question of misappropriating even a single grain of rice/sugar from the district�s quota do not arise, Ahamed elaborated his contention by claiming that he could produce acknowledgement receipt of the FCS items being provided to nominees of MLAs or to the beneficiaries.

The statement also detailed procedures governing lifting of FCS items, indent, distribution to agents etc.
