Imphal, Aug 25:
Referring to the unity of seven underground organisations belonging to the Kuki, Hmar and Zomi tribes, the proscribed UNLF has described formation of United People's Front (UPF) as an encouraging sign towards forging unity amongst the ethnic people of Manipur.
a UNLF statement issued by its senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba observed that reconciliation among the seven armed Kuki-Chin groups would add renewed zeal in taking forward the revolutionary movement which had earlier been embroiled in clan/community centric struggle.
Contending that owing to Government of india's concerted 'divide and rule' policy, efforts to strengthen the revolutionary movement had been impeded for such a long time, UNLF opined that recent unity among the seven Kuki-Chin is a huge victory against the colonial forces.
leaders of the seven organisations too might have conceived the unified platform in the same concept as UNLF perceives, the statement expressed.
UNLF also exuded confidence that the UPF would relentlessly strive for unity of various ethnic communities of Manipur and work tirelessly till the goal of a unified and free Manipur is achieved.
saluting the spirit of the UPF leaders and cadres, UNLF also conveyed warm fraternal wishes to the Kuki-Hmar-Zomi conglomerate.
