Cops nip new outfit plan in the bud

They have already started an extortion campaign by sending demand letters to Cops nip in the bud various Government Departments, the SP added.
The SP further informed that extortion notes of the new outfit signed by one self-styled finance secretary Nganthoi Meitei and addressed to various Directors of the Government Departments and Chief Engineers of Engineering Departments have also been recovered from the possession of the arrested five cadres.
Over and above this, one Santro car and five mobile handsets (without SIM cards) which they used in their extortion campaign have been seized, the SP conveyed.
To assert the existence of the new outfit, they are also planning to explode bombs at the residences of some Government officials, the SP disclosed, adding that main motive behind floating the new outfit is to extort money.
The SP said that all the arrested five cadres have connection with other proscribed outfits like RPF and KYKL in the past.
The logo embrossed letter heads that were recovered from their possession have been printed outside Manipur and send here through courier.
Nambol Police station have registered a case and further investigation is on, the SP added.

Bishnupur Police Commandos have apprehended five cadres of the proscribed KYKL-MDF who were allegedly trying to float a new outfit.
Announcing this at a press conference in the Bishnupur District Police Headquarters late evening today, SP Konsam Jayanta informed that the five cadres were arrested from Malom Tuliyaima Awang Leikai.
Identifying the arrested five cadres as self styled finance commander of the new outfit Mathurabasimayum Tarajit Sharma alias Tombapu alias Tomba (42) s/o Gourachandra Sharma of Kongba Kshetri Leikai, Kongkham Birkumar Singh alias Bebe (38) s/o Rajendro of Haobam Marak Keisham Leikai, Ningthoujam Ranjit Singh (42) s/o Chandra of Thanga Salam Leikai, Konjengbam Inaobi alias Basanta (45) s/o late Modhu of Wangkhei Khunou and Thoudam Premchandra Singh (38) s/o Mangi of Toubul Mayai Leikai, the SP said that they were trying to float a new outfit named Manipur National Liberation Front (MNLF) under the chairmanship of one Nobin alias Khuman of Tumukhong Moirangpurel, Imphal East district.
