The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee today observed the Anti-Terrorism Day coinciding with the 16th death anniversary of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, informed an MPCC release.
At a simple function held at the Congress Bhavan, MPCC president Gaikhangam, Chief Minister O Ibobi, Congress Ministers and MLAs paid floral tribute to the late Prime Minister.
Later, the Congressmen led by Gaikhangam took the oath of Satbhavana.
IGAR (South) Maj Gen BK Chengapa also visited Churachandpur today in connection with the day and joined the troops in taking a pledge against terrorism.
Similar pledge was taken by all ranks in a simple function organised in all sectors down to a COB level, added the PRO.
The Anti-Terrorism day was also observed at the office of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations.
The main feature of the observance was the oath taken by DIPR officers/employees to stand firm against terrorism.
In Bishnupur district, the Anti-Terrorism Day was observed under the chairmanship of DC Aleng Shimray at the conference hall of Bishnupur mini-secretariat.
