Imphal, October 20: Claiming responsibility for the killing of four individuals on October 17, the proscribed People�s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) asserted that the three were executed for their indulgence in extortion and confiscation of other�s properties at different places which tantamount to maligning image of the armed organisation.

The four executed by PREPAK activists are Laishram Arun alias Surjit (30) s/o L Ibomcha of Yourbung Mayai Leikai at Kha Naorem Leikai, Yumnam Inao alias Dilip (23) s/o Y Ibomcha of Yourbung Mayai Leikai and Sandham Dhanjit (21) s/o S Ibocha of Yourbung Mayai Leikai at Keibi, and Huidrom Manaoton (22) s/o H Kullachandra of Itham Nungoi.

According to a statement issued by the banned outfit�s publicity and propaganda in-charge Aheiba Angom, L Arun alongwith one Yaima at the command of Yumnam Ibohal alias Ibungo (36) s/o Y Yaima of Yourbung Maning Leikai and Huidrom Naocha (23) s/o Khomdonbi Devi of Sawombung Thongkhong Makha Leikai extorted showowners of Khurai area posing as PREPAK activists in addition to collection of goods in connection with the October 9 anniversary inspite of the outfit already banning such activities.

Insisting that capital punishment had to be initiated against Arun for violating PREPAK�s prohibition, the statement also asked Yaima to surrender within three days while contended that Arun had surrendered to authorities of 14 Assam Rifles in 2000 with a .38 revolver posing as cadre of another armed group.

Regarding Y Inao, S Dhanjit and H Manaoton, Aheiba maintained that the trio posing as PREPAK activists summoned pradhans on monetary matters in addition to serving demand notes at the office of Registrar.

They were apprehended when the trio were returning after serving demand notes to the SDO an act which the three confessed and accepted during interrogation and which merited capital punishment, mentioned the statement.

Taking serious note of continued agitation (bandh) by activists of the JAC formed in connection with the killing whose line of actions have been causing hardships and great inconveniences to the general public rather than introspecting on what compelling situation and reason such stringent action had to be initiated, Aheiba cautioned that PREPAK would closely monitor and scrutinise all activities of the JAC members.

The statement further observed that with similar other previous cases of impostors undermining the ongoing revolutionary movement that had already evoked stern warning from armed outfits to mend conduct of anti-national elements PREPAK do not consider further warning a necessity in eliminating those attempting to impede the armed campaign.

Apart from the PREPAK organisation striving to restore sovereignty of the Manipur people and having warned all adversaries against attempting to foil the movement it is imperative in the PREPAK ideology that individuals whose activities are detrimental to the campaign are eliminated without further warning, Aheiba stated.
