Imphal, Jun 19:
Peeved with the State Government's order effecting posting of principal in-charge of TG Higher Secondary School as vice principal, students of the reputed institution boycotted their classes today.
The agitating students stuck to their stand of continuing the class boycott stir until and unless the Government's order is cancelled.
It its order dated June 15 this year, the School Education authorities effected transfer of Ch Ingocha Singh, principal of Nambol Leiren Girls' Higher Secondary School as principal of TG Higher Secondary School.
The same order also mentioned the posting of S Damayanti Devi, principal in-charge of TG Higher Secondary School as vice principal of the same institution while effecting the upgradation of Th Manitombi Devi, vice principal of Leiren Girls' Higher Secondary School as principal in-charge of the same institution.
Talking to mediapersons, the disgruntled girl students of TG Higher Secon dary School also accused Ch Ingocha of snatching microphone from the students while observing school assembly today.
Without following due official procedures of joining the school, he straight away came and snatched the microphone and announced his new transfer and posting as principal of the school, they said, adding that he even failed to officially report to the school office before making his announcement.
They also informed of submitting a memorandum on the matter to the Chief Minister requesting him to cancel the transfer and posting order.
Since the school has already a vice-principal, how would Damayanti who has been degraded to VP accommodate her office, the memorandum said, while contending that the order has inconvenienced the office hierarchy.
Since Damayanti has taken a sincere initiative in the new academic session in addition to the ongoing hectic admission to class XI under her supervision, the sudden change of principal would hurdle both the academic and administrative flows of the school, the memorandum asserted.
To remove all these imminent difficulties, the students demanded cancelling of the Government's transfer and posting order.
