Seven-year old Rajkumar who has been undergoing treatment at RIMS Hospital after he and his father were knifed by some unidentified persons at Pandon crossing under Imphal Police Station in the early morning of May 8 will be handed over to a Children Home as no one has come to claim the child.
Father of the child was killed in the attack.
Disclosing this during a press conference, Superintendent of RIMS Dr Y Mohen informed that even if Rajkumar had told that he stays in a rented room at Naga Bazar, studies in Group A class of an LP School and that his mother is not in Manipur, because of the shock he suffered in the incident, no proper conservation can be carried out with the child to establish his real identity.
Dr Mohen further informed that after taking the child along, he and the personnel of Voluntary Help Unit of RIMS had gone to all the places where migrant Biharis are staying in different parts over the last two days, but no lead could be established .
The child is presently undergoing treatment at the ENT ward of RIMS, he said, while informing that if there is any person who would like to adopt the child, they may do so within the next three days.
Otherwise the child would be handed over to the custody of the Children Home.
