Imphal, May 15: Troops of 33 Assam rifles apprehended cadres belonging to the PULF and UNLF organisations from Thoubal district areas, said statements issued by PROs of PIB (DW) and IGAR (S).

According to PRO IGAR (S), the PULF activist, hauled up during search operations in Sora Awang Leikai yesterday evening, has been identified as Md Ithemcha (24) s/o Md Kayamu- ddin of Sora Awang Leikai.

Disclosing that the arrest was made on information provided by another PULF cadre arrested yesterday - Md Fakhraddin, the statement also mentioned recovery of five live rounds of 7.62 mm LMG from Ithemcha, who had been handed over to Kakching police station.

The UNLF cadre named as S Inoucha Singh alias Kanglo (22) s/o Manjinor Singh of Salungpham was arrested by troops of 33 AR, PIB (DW) quoted AR authorities as saying adding the arrest was made in an operation conducted with civil police at Kakching Khunou this morning.

Items recovered from Inoucha include incriminating documents and six live rounds of AK-47 series.

In an interesting revelation, the individual informed of joining the PLA in Feb 1999 (No 1983) before deserting the outfit to join UNLF, added PRO IGAR (S).
