Imphal, February 10: The RPF has offered revolutionary salute to Sanasam Amarjit alias ingba s/o S Maimu of Wangoo Ahallup Awang Leikai.

Amarjit was slain in an encounter with police commandos on February 8 night at Lamlai Bazar.

According to a statement issued by RPF�s chief of department of communication and publicity N Wangba, Pte Ingba and some PLA cadres were laying in ambush to attack Central security forces during which the commando team arrived from Imphal side.

Even though the commandos were allowed to pass through the same team came back on foot after leaving their vehicles at a distance constraining the entrenched PLA cadres to open fire in defence.

While retreating from the spot Ingba was slain by the commandos even as another civilian was hit in the police retaliation, said Wangba quoting report of cadres who managed to flee.

The civilian who was inside a PCO also ran in the same direction as the retreating PLA cadres but was killed in police firing, claimed Wangba who condemned the commandos for their lack of responsibility to protect civilian life.

Conveying solidarity to sorrow of Ingba�s bereaved family, Wangba also recalled of Ingba joining the outfit in November 2004.
