Lamka, January 09:
Kuki National Organisation, the political wing of the Kuki National Army (KNA) today termed the statement of KCP, KYKL, PREPAK and UNLF on Tipaimukh Dam as outrageous.
A statement issued by T Stephen, under secretary of the organisation, said that the joint statement issued by the four armed groups was nothing but another attempt to muscle into affairs that do not relate to them.
'KNO is appalled that rather than paying heed to its previous notification with regard to stop planning mines in Kuki areas, these groups have the temerity to make comments that concern the ancestral land of the Kuki people' it said adding, 'if there are objections pertaining to any project on Kuki lands, it is the Kukis who will make them.' Calling for a complete halt on interfering in Kuki affairs and urging the four insurgent groups to immediately withdraw their statement on Tipaimukh Dam, KNO advised that the insurgents confine their opinion or diktats to the valley where their community have lived for long.
'This is extremely important to maintain the existing delicate harmony between the two communities, Kukis and Meiteis,' it added.
