A powerful bomb blast blew away the hand of a fisherman while his colleague sustained injuries while they were searching for fish baits at Bishnupur district today.
The man whose hand was blown away is identified as Moirangthem Bidyanand (34) while his friend is identified as Haobijam Dhamendra.
They are residents of Nachou Awang Maning Leikai Ward number 2.The incident occurred today at about 8.30 am while the two were searching for fish baits from earth worms found in plenty in mounds of cow dungs.
Immediately after the incident, the two were rushed to RIMS hospital for treatment.
The bomb blast blew away the left hand of Bidyanand while Dhamendra suffered injuries all over the face.
In another incident, unidentified miscreants lobbed a bomb at the Tusk and Bond petrol outlet at Minuthong today at about 9 am.
The bomb however did not explode and it has been retrieved by the bomb squad of Imphal East police.
State team on Delimitation : The representatives of the all political party from Manipur which went to Delhi some days back to present the case of the State today met BJP general secretary Arun Jaitely.
The team is set to meet the Union Home Ministry tomorrow at 10 am.
The State team had yesterday met the Chairman of the Delimitation Commission of India, Kuldip Singh and urged him not to go ahead with the delimitation exercise as the 2001 Census was full of loopholes.
