The Senapati District Consumers' Club has decided to approach the Indian Oil Corporation, Tinsukia to highlight the alleged mal practices adopted by M/S Iboyaima Agency, Tadubi and its sub-agents, which are operating at eight places in Senapati district.
A statement issued by the Consumers' Club today said that the decision to approach the IOC was taken during a meeting held at the Indoor Stadium of Senapati with the DC of the district, Dr Prem Singh in the chair.
After discussing the matter, the meeting resolved to submit in writing the mal-practices of the said gas agency to the IOC, said the statement and added that the malpractices include non-issuance of Blue Card and cash memo to the consumers, over charging of prices per filled LPG cylinder from the customers particularly in Senapati district by M/S Iboyaima Agency, Tadubi.
The meeting further agreed to urge the authority concerned to refund all the excess amount charged by the named agent/sub-agents since the inception of the distributor/sub-agents with chargeable interest as applicable by the law of the land.
Demanding firm action, the meeting also agreed to approach the authority concerned to take up fitting action against the said agent for wilfully flouting the rules/terms and conditions of their services.
The meeting also resolved to form a Committee to look into the matter for finalisation of the Consumers' Office plot with the district administration without further delay.
Seventy three members from different organisations and individuals attended the meeting held at the Indoor Stadium on July 29, said the statement and added that it started with an invocation prayer.
