DESAM reacts to CAU's clarification, justifies stand

Imphal, July 02: Reacting to the clarification of the Central Agricultural University Registrar to its earlier allegation of faulty appointment procedure and lack of infrastructure development, the DESAM asserted that the clarification was totally fabricated and without any valid ground.

A press release issued by DESAM maintained that it is not acceptable to appoint Professors and Associate Professors and SMS for KVK Andro based on the interview conducted 20 months after publication of the advertisement without re-advertisement.

Screening for the interview was also done in illegal manner in addition to the fact that one candidate each applied for the posts of Associate Professor Pathology, Associate Professor Entomology and Associate Professor Agronomy.

According to established rules, interview for appointments cannot be conducted if only one candidate applied for a particular post, alleged DESAM.

The statement of the Registrar concerning development of infrastructure in CAU was unfounded.

The University is unable to utilize the fund sanctioned by the Union Government under 10th Plan to develop infrastructure of the CAU, remarked DESAM.
