Imphal, September 30 2009: While alleging misrule by the Congress Governments, both at the Centre and state of Manipur that had been abetting turmoil in the society and causing severe hardships to the people, the Lamshang and Khurai JACs have called upon the intellectual section, public leaders and social activists to suggest means so as to sustain the ongoing movement against the July 23 BT road firing.

In a joint statement issued today, JAC co-convenors condemned successive Congress regimes for toying with the sentiment of over a billion population in the largest democracy of the world inspite of political organisation having experienced leaderships oaf iconic figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.

Substantiating, the JACs contended that present Congress-led governments at the Centre as well as here in the State had been ignoring plight of the manipuris who are reeling under the impact of the July 23 stage managed killing of Rabina Devi and Sanjit Singh apart from wounding five others.

Recounting events leading to the firing by police commandos in the crowded market place, the agitation bodies insisted that deliberate attempts are being made to divert attention of the State masses with the Centre scheming appeasement policies through SPF Government as the nodal agency.

Condoling demises of many a young and innocent civilians at the hands of rogue security force personnel with the incidents kept under wrap for want of evidence, the JACs nevertheless pointed that those involved in the BT road mayhem should not be spared from exemplary punishment as Tehelka news magazine had provided enough evidence of the killings being stage managed.

Holding the Chief Minister O ibobi Singh responsible for the massacre of two and injury caused to five others, they asserted that as leader of the ruling front and Minister in charge of the Home portfolio, O Ibobi Singh is liable to be put on trial and face legal consequences to deliver justice to over 25 lakh suffering Manipuris.
