Imphal, February 15: The identity of the suspected militant who was shot dead by police commandos at Petchi hillock under Yairipok PS yesterday is yet to be established and the body is still at RIMS morgue.

Meanwhile the body of Kangujam Poireiton (27) of Kakwa Lamdaibung, who was shot dead by unidentified gunmen last night has been handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS morgue today.

Poireiton was shot dead while he was talking with one Waikhom Kabir of Kakwa Nameirakpam Leikai, said sources adding that Kabir was involved in physically assaulting Poireiton's father on February 12.The victim received a bullet injury on the stomach and he passed away at RIMS hospital yesterday at about 8.15 pm.

In another incident, a former cadre of PREPAK was shot on the right eye at Sougrakpam Leikai under Singjamei police station yesterday at about 7 pm.
