KRA information and publicity secretary DT Haokip today said that the joining of three Kuki National Army (KNA) cadres along with a cache of arms to the Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) is a great achievement of the KRA in its struggle against the Indian Govt.Talking to media persons at an undisclosed location under Senapati Dist today, while the three KNA men handed over arms to the KRA, DT Haokip disclosed the names of the three KNA cadres as Avinash Gangte (23), Jewel Haokip (28) and Jangkholen Haokip.
Jewel and Avinash are from Churachandpur Dist.
The weapons brought by the trio are two AK 56 Rifles, one M-22, one G III, two SLR, one M-16, one M-21, two US carbine and 800 live rounds.
Welcoming the three cadres, DT Haokip reiterated that the joining of the trio to the KRA is a great achievement in its struggle against the Indian Govt as KNA cadres in collusion with the Indian army are responsible for eliminating seven KRA cadres in cold blood.
He also informed that two weapons which were snatched from KRA cadres were also among the weapons surrendered by the trio.
Informing that five KNA cadres and two KNF (MC) cadres had also surrendered to the KRA along with arms and ammunition a few months earlier, DT Haokip said that KRA will not prevent any one from joining the KRA fold and instead would welcome them with open arms.
KRA leader Jonathan who also interacted with the mediapersons expressed his strong desire for uniting all the Kuki revolutionary groups operating in the North East for achieving the common goal of the Kukis.
