Imphal, October 03:
The Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) has welcomed the decision of UNLF and KYKL to ban KCP (P) and has also appealed to other like-minded bodies to support in eliminating an ant-revolutionary element like KCP (P).
In a statement, publicity and propaganda secretary of KCP Pibarel Mangang said that the steps being taken up to ban KCP (P) is the right thing to be done at this present juncture.
Mangang further clarified that KCP had at no point of time worked with KCP (P) nor it is one of its factions.
In fact, KCP (P) is a gang which has been extorting money and trying to tarnish the image of revolutionary movement by taking advantage of the fissures within the KCP over the past few years, he said.
Within this short span of time, KCP (P) has been indulging in killing people over ransom demand and intimidating doctors while pretending to be a socially conscious outfit by taking up seemingly important social issues such as banning like banning intoxicants and digital films for itsown vested interest.
KCP has no faith in the factional politics and has been trying to patch up the difference within the party under the leadership of president Leipakmacha and general secretary Noyon (Laba) and efforts are on to restructure the party, he said adding that KCP does not believe that the revolutionary outfits could have different goals, nor there can be any.
Observing that Manipour is at present passing through a critical stage with the Government of India intensifying counter insurgency operation in the hill areas and trying to bring about military polarisation through signing of of cease-fire with the armed outfits of various smaller ethnic groups, he said regrettable that internal difference within KCP has given chance to some opportunists who are hell bent on tarnishing the image of the revolutionary movement.
Mangang further informed that in continuation of its freedom struggle, KCP had recently enaged in gun battle with the Indian secutity forces at Henglep.
