Lamka, December 28:
Pronouncing the reason for their electoral triumph, the District Youth Congress Committee hurriedly convened a press conference yesterday and asked the Chief Minister and IFC Minister to immediately clear their pending Bills for the contract work awarded to them before the Assembly election, reports SS Guite.
Talking to the media at the DYCC office the Youth Congress said that their engagement in contract works since 2003 on several projects in Khuga Multipurpose Projects including the spillway, Intake and Head Works Division, the aggrieved DYCC members headed by its President however alleged that Bills for the said works have not been paid till date.
When ever funds were release by the government and each time they learn about the availability of funds, the committee has obtained special case recommendations from the district MLAs and even from Chief Minister, yet they were repeatedly sidelined by the government when actual payments were made, the visibly irritated members said while addressing the media.
It is embarrassing to know that these Special Case Recommendations were merely a means of deception, members present during the media briefing said.
They also term indifferent attitude adopted in dealing with the DYCC as unfortunate and even tragic.
To pursue their bills, the work for which according to them had been executed, the DYCC has threatened the Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and IFC Minister N Biren in particular of an intense and unparalleled form of agitation against the government if their pending bills were not compensated by tenth of January next year.
