Imphal, May 26: It was an unusual but nevertheless breathtaking display of skill involving coordination of the mind and body by the local lads that captivated attention of audience today at Lilong.

A team of four youngsters performed in front of a small gathering of locals, Assam Rifles personnel, Lilong Assembly Constituency MLA Helalluddin, who was also the guest of honour on the occasion and Commander of 9 Sector Assam Rifles Brig PK Kayastha - who graced the occasion as the chief guest.

The occasion was inauguration of a Village Training Centre constructed by 32 AR for the people of Lilong.

Proceedings during such occasions are predictable.

It however was the last item before the usual cutting of ribbon and speeches by dignitaries which caught everybody�s attention.

In a splendid display, the four youngsters demonstrated their acrobatic skill with the background music on.

The ease and aplomb with which these youngsters performed can match the best in the business.

Entire audience were mesmerized including Brig Kayastha and the local MLA who not only admired but opened their purses and gave a cash prize on the spot.

While the locals, especially the womenfolk thanked Brig Kayastha for providing them with such facility where they will be able to acquire useful skill in stitching, embroidery and computers, the Brig also thanked the people and the 32 AR Commandant Col Raj for extending an opportunity to him (Kayastha) to be with them and be a party to the spectacular musical acrobatics performed by the foursome - Boby, Boboy, Balchar and Nehru.

When asked as to where did they acquire the training, the foursome to the utter astonishment of everybody informed that they have learnt their basic skill from Hyderabad Film City and thereafter have been training on their own.

exuding confidence that with the right training, support and exposure, bringing laurel to the country from the arena of gymnastics would not be an impossible task they also drew the attention of the powers-that-be to their determination.
