Advocate General Ashok Potsangbam and his counterpart from Assam Pranoy Kumar Musahary have been appointed as Judges of Gauhati High Court.
President of India Pratibha Patil issued warrants of appointments to this effect some days back, official sources said adding that with Ashok's appointment Manipur now has four Judges in the Gauhati High Court the others being Justices Maibam Binoykumar, T Nandakumar and Mutum Binoykumar.

Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court Jasti Chelameswar will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed Justice duo on September 26 morning at the premises of the Court's Principal seat.
The 58 year old Ashok Potsangbam of Khagempali Pankha passed BA from Calcutta University before obtaining LLB degree from Delhi University in 1974.Among the first from the State to be appointed as the Central Government Standing Counsel for Imphal Bench of Gauhati High Court, Ashok is informed to have served in this post from June 9, 1995 till December 16, 1997 in addition to serving as the State's Advocate General for four terms till now.
