Imphal, August 22: Demanding immediate withdrawal of the monetary demand of Rs 5 lakhs served on Chairperson of Institute of Co-operative Management (ICM) Khaidem Borekishore by finance secretary of KNO/KLA Ngambom Kuki on August 7, staff and trainees of ICM as well as the local Meira Paibis staged protest in different places today.

In front of the gate of ICM at Lamphelpat, staff and trainees of the institute participated in the protest demonstration while at Chingmeirong, members of Chingmeirong Mamang Leikai Meira Paibis Lup and Chingmeirong Maning Leikai Meira Paibi Lup staged the protest starting from 10 am to 5 pm today.

Placards and banners with slogans like 'Withdraw the demand of KNO/KLA', 'Don't bargain human lives with money', 'Allow us to live in peace', 'Stop the culture of imposing unbearable monetary demand', etc were used at both the protest sites.
