Imphal, December 15 2008: Stepping up the counter-insurgency operation, security forces have arrested in all 12 underground activists belonging to different outfits from during the last 48 hours.

Imphal West district police commandos arrested four PLA activists from Singjamei Bazar identified as Huiningsupham Bonthe alias Bhogen (40) s/o H Amuyaima Singh of Nachou Angom Leikai at present staying at near Grace Academy, Sanjenbam Herojit alias Ibung (34) s/o S Kunjo of Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi, Chingangbam Bisho Meitei (24) s/o (L) Ch Indrajit of Ayangpalli Mutum Leikai and Nahakpam Loken alias Lokendro (33) s/o N Ranjit of Nongmeibung Ayangpalli today.

They disclosed that they are working under one Kim of PLA.

One dark grey Maruti car (MN-02/5887) belonging in the same of Sagolsem Chinglensana s/o S Dhabali of Uchiwa Makha Leikai and three mobile phones along with SIM cards were recovered from the trio.

Imphal West district police commandos arrested two PREPAK activists from Moirangkhom Sougaijam Leirak identified as Thokchom Robert alias Zumbi (21) s/o Th Momon of Moirangkhom Sougaijam Leirak and Laishram Gunamani alias Guru (28) s/o L Rajen of Kongba Laishram Leikai yesterday.

One 9 mm pistol with one magazine and four live rounds of ammunition were recovered from the possession of Robert, said a press release of Imphal West SSP.

According to a statement issued by SP of Imphal East District Th Radheshyam Singh, a team of Imphal East Police Commandos arrested one KYKL activist identified as Yambem Raj Singh alias Momocha (21) s/o Y Inaoton Singh of Wairi Mamang Leikai from Lamlong Bazar at around 10.20 am of December 13 .

On verification, Raj disclosed that he joined KYKL in July 2008 through one Khomdon of KYKL and now is involved in extortion of money from general public, Govt officials, etc.

On the same day at around 12.10 pm, a team of Imphal East Police Commandos also arrested one KCP cadre who has been identified as Lisham Premjit alias PK Meetei (33) s/o L Babuyaima of Sekta Awang Leikai from Palace Compound.

On verification, he disclosed that he joined KCP organisation recently through one Ibohanbi of kcp and that he is working in transporting arms and ammunition from one place to another, the SP informed.

The SP further informed that a combined team of Imphal East Police Commandos and personnel of 32 Assam Rifles also arrested one KCP (MC) cadre from Lamlong Bazar at around 5 pm yesterday.

Identifying the arrested KCP (MC) cadre as Md Dilson Hussain alias Dickson (30) s/o Md Danlal Hussain of Hatta Minuthong, the SP conveyed that on verification, Md Dilson Hussain disclosed that he joined KCP (MC) in May 2008 through one Nando and is now working in extortion of money from general public and Govt officials.

Furthermore, the SP informed that at around 6.30 pm of the same day, another team of Imphal East Police Commandos apprehended one PULF cadre later identified as Md Warish (19) s/o Md Islamuddin of Keirao Mang Makha from Kshetrigao through one Md Anish Khan of PULF in May 2008.One copy of Lamjing Meira, published by the publicity cell of the outfit has been recovered from his possession, the SP added.

In another statement, the SP informed that two PREPAK activists have also been arrested by the Commandos of Imphal East District Police from different places yesterday.

The PREPAK activist identified as Amakcham Naocha Singh (28) s/o A Samu Singh of Kongba Kshetri Leikai was arrested from his own locality at around 3.30 pm yesterday, the SP said, adding that one demand letter of PREPAK addressed to one Ksh Choutombi, Bidi agent, Malom Bazar and signed by finance co-ordinator of the proscribed outfit have been recovered from his possession.

On verification, Naocha disclosed that he joined PREPAK in May 2008 through one Alu of outfit and he was involved in extortion of money from general public and Govt officials of Imphal East area.

Further, at around 4 pm of the same day, another PREPAK cadre later identified as Thangshabam Landan Singh (38) s/o late Th Budha Singh of Kongba Bazar was arrested from Wangkhei Tokpam Leikai, the SP said, adding that on verification, Landan disclosed that he is an active member of PREPAK and is now working under Amakcham Naocha.
