Imphal, June 15:
The present deplorable condition of the IT Road in Sadar Hills and backwardness of the people living on either sides of the road is due to the indifferent attitude of the Govt, MLA of Tadubi AC K Raina alleged.
Speaking at a felicitation function of the successful students of the class X and XII examination from Tadubi AC at Chalwa Village, IT Road today, Raina lamented that in this modern developed world, the people living along the IT Road in Manipur have not yet seen the light of development as the State Government has failed to provide electricity in these areas.
While assuring that every possible efforts would be made from his side in putting pressure on the Govt to look into the infrastructural requirements of the area, Raina informed that there is already a proposal for construction of a new building of the Chalwa High School under the Special Plan Assistant.
Efforts would also be made for effective functioning of the ADC office and construction of a hospital in phase wise manner, he added.
MLA Awangbou Newmai who was also present during the felicitation function organised by KSO, Tuilang Block, said it is really unfortunate that students in the hill areas have not been able to enjoy all the necessary facilities due to lack of adequate infrastructures in the hill districts.
While assuring that he would press the Government for construction of buildings for schools which do not have proper buildings of their own , the MLA appealed to the people to safeguard the public properties as their own properties.
Chairman of Hill Areas Committee Thangmilen Kipgen, who was also present at the occasion, observed that development should start from the grass roots level.
'We should work collective in putting pressures on the Government for development of the hill areas', he exhorted the gathering.
