Imphal, May 15:
To strengthen position of the party and bring about a favourable change in the society, Manipur Peoples Party would be organising a political convention most likely at May last week.
During the convention opinions and suggestions would be sought not only from party workers but also from civil societies, NGOs, intellectuals on ways and means of solidifying position of the party.
Informing this during a press conference at MPP office this afternoon, party president L Borajao appealed all concerned to take part in the convention.
important suggestions during the convention would be taken into account and incorporated in the party Constitution, he added.
Reiterating that MPP which is the oldest regional political party of Manipur should not be abolished for the vested interest of floating a new regional political forum, Borajao pointed out that there is no provision as such in the Constitution of the Party allowing other political parties or splitting it.
Instead, MPP would work in tandem with other regional forces for betterment of Manipuri society, he said.
