Imphal, April 15:
Taking into consideration the inconveniences faced by the general public, the proscribed PULF has decided to relax the restrictions placed on the FCS, including its Director, AD (Sugar), AD (Rice) and Superintendent (Godown).
In a statement the outfit said that the restrictions have been lifted keeping in mind the suffering of the people and urged others not to put any obstacles in its functioning.
Ridiculing the claim of Azad alias Robin, the outfit said that Azad is a selfish man, who has pocketed crores of rupees for his personal gains and added that today there is a not single cadre or officer with him.
Quoting the chief of army staff of the outfit Deny, the statement said that during the ten of association with Azad, there was no question of any financial bungling on his part (Deny).
No officer was given permission to keep even a thousand rupees with him for a few days, contended Deny and added that no one will believe that he (Deny) has misappropriated money after one month.
The outfit further alleged that Azad had killed many cadres and officers of PULF and then later tried to shift the blame on MI alias Choudhury.
The fact is the killing took place before Choudhury joined PULF, said the statement.
If Choudhury was over ambitious and was after any post then he could have been the Chairman of PULF, said Deny.
Therefore the charges levelled by Azad is without any foundation.
The cadres exhibited by Azad on March 17 was nothing but a ploy to fool the people, said the statement and added that the cadres and officers have all left him.
Throwing a direct challenge at Azad, Deny said that an open vote may be held at Mapal Kangjeibung.
The vote may be held only for Meitei Pangals/Muslims or the entire people of Manipur, said the statement and added that Azad will not even garner 5 pc of the voters' support.
Deny also appealed to the people to extend all their support to any work taken up under the name of Umar Faroukh and not to listen to the propaganda of Azad.
"If anyone opposes then they should bear the consequences," cautioned Deny.
