Imphal, January 15: An 80 year old man was killed near the bridge of Naransena Makha Leikai under Moirang police station today at about 7 am when he was run over by a vehicle of 6th Jat Regiment.

The victim is identified as Ningthoujam Amuba of Naransena Makha Leikai.

He was walking with one Longjam Rabei (70) of his locality.

Rabei was sustained injuries on the head.

After running over the aged victim, the vehicle of the Jat Regiment rammed into the house of one Ningthoujam Binoy of the same locality.

The vehicle then hit Binoy's DI Tata (MN01-6996) parked at his home.

It is reported that the Jat Regiment has agreed to compensate the victim's family with Rs 1 lakh besides meeting the charges of repairing the DI Tata and Rs 10,000 to repair the house of Binoy.

The deceased was handed over to family members after post morterm at RIMS.
