Ten students from Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency who secured highest marks in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination, 2007 and their teachers have been honoured with Major Pagin Kipgen Foundation Charitable meritorious award for excellence.
The award presentation function organised by Major Pagin Kipgen Foundation Charitable Trust at the Kangpokpi District Council hall was graced by Commander of 59 Mountain Brigade Brig Raman Dhawan and Chairman of Hill Areas Committee Thangminlen Kipgen who is also the chairman of the Trust as chief guest and functional president respectively.
The 10 highest mark scorer students who were felicitated at the occasion are D Theingam Thangal of SF School, Thangpilen Kipgen of Elite Higher Secondary School, Rohit Dahal of Diamond High School, SF Lophro of SF School, Enock Gurung of PMA, Manlun Haoneiniang Zou of Keithelmanbi High School, Paohilsem Kipgen of Keithelmanbi High School, Mangginlun Shonghil of Diamond High School, Letminlen Singson of HM School, Hemkholon Haokip of Keithelmanbi High School and Johnt John of Keithelmanbi High School.
Distributing the award comprising of cash reward of Rs 1000 along with mementos and certificates, Brig Raman Dhawan congratulated the students and wished them more success in their future career.
He also presented gifts to the teachers of the schools who produced such brilliant students.
It may recalled that the meritorious award for excellence instituted by Major Pagin Foundation Charitable Trust in memory of late Major Shehkhogin Kipgen was earlier given to bright students of Haipi village only.
But from this year, the jurisdiction of the award has been extended to whole of Kangpokpi AC.
On the other hand, Manipur Students' Federation (MSF) hosted a reception function in honour of four position holders of this year's HSLC and HSSLC examinations from the schools located in Mayai Lambi area at Wangoi Community Hall.
The position holders who were honoured at the occasion Takhellambam Michael of Ch Tomchou High School, Mayang Imphal who secured 3rd position in the HSLC exam, Ahongsangbam Robetson of Little Master English Higher Secondary School, Samurou who 17th position in the HSLC exam, Khumanthem Jemson of Little Master English Higher Secondary School who secured 10th position in the Science stream of HSSLC exam and Matoulembi Huirem of HRD Academy who secured 18th position in the science stream of HSSLC exam, 2007.
