Imphal, March 09, 2010:
Recalling the doctrine that 'revolutionaries are fishes and the people water', the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) has pledged to work in a such manner consistent to the pulse of the people.
A statement issued by Tabungba Meetei of the KCP's information and public relations department underscored the need for insurgent outfits to work together so that the liberation movement is intensified.
Noting that inability of the insurgent outfits to work in close coordination has been putting the alien rule on a vantage position, the outfit asserted that alleged suppressive regime can be effectively tackled and collective goal of liberation realised only when all the indigenous people stand united.
Since the political destiny of Manipur was hijacked by India on October 15, 1949, a violent conflict has been continuing for more than 60 years.
While subjugating the national sovereignty, maximum military force is being utilised all along this period to commit such excesses like murders, rapes, forced disappearances, fake encounters etc, it alleged.
Historically, Manipur was a sovereign nation based on an egalitarian economy.
The Indo-Manipur friendship Treaty of 1762 and the Treaty of Yandaboo, 1826 were testimonies to the sovereign status of Manipur, it asserted.
The Instrument of Accession signed between India and Manipur on three points on August 11, 1947 was invalid because both the parties were not independent at the time.
Again, the king had no authority to sign the Merger Agreement as the political authority of Manipur had already passed on to the State Assembly elected a year earlier in 1948. But the Government of India, deliberately not acknowledging these histori- cal facts, has been trying to project the insurgents who are fighting for a legitimate cause, as separatists or terrorists, the outfit alleged.
Yet, no revolutionary movement waged in the right direction and manner has never ended in defeat.
Citing such revolutionary movements like the October Revolution of Russia, the Vietnam War etc, the KCP said that liberation of Manipur from the clutch of the aline rule would be determinant of the nation's future destiny.
It's time the State leaders who have been hypnotised by the communalism based ideology of India to understand the revolutionary movement and the issue of national sovereignty.
Accusing the Ibobi-led Congress Government of unleashing a killing spree targeting innocent people of the State, the outfit claimed that all revolutionary movements based on class struggle succeeded not only in liberating their countries from colonial rulers but also managed to establish modern, egalitarian societies.
It went on to compare the existing alien rule to Nazi oppression.
New Delhi would never give back the lost sovereignty of Manipur on a platter nor should we plead to return it.
We should win back our lost sovereignty with force, the outfit asserted.
It further claimed responsibility for opening fire at the residence of one Oinam Tomba of Singjamei Oinam Thingel on March 1. The outfit accused Tomba and his wife of plotting to land party cadres in the hands of security forces.
