Along with a befitting reception function, Thadou Kuki Students' Association, Sadar Hills has presented meritorious awards to students of Sadar Hills area who secured highest marks in this year's HSLC and HSSLC examinations to encourage them for more success in their future career.
The reception function cum meritorious award presentation ceremony was held at Presidency College, Motbung.
Miss Nengshi Sitlhou d/o Tongsat Sitlhou of Motbung village was honoured with the Seigougin (Ginneo) Singsit Memorial Award, 2007 which carries a citation and a cash prize of Rs 1000 for securing the highest mark of 87.6 percent aggregate in the HSLC examination, 2007 from among the candidates who appeared in the examination from Sadar Hills area.
Thangpilen Kipgen s/o Seikhosat Kipgen of Kangpokpi was presented with Major S Kipgen Memorial Award, 2007 which comprises of a citation of honour and Rs 1000 in cash for his outstanding performance in the HSLC examination, 2007 as well as in appreciation of his selection as a student of North East Regional Institute of Science (NERIST), Arunachal Pradesh.
Hemkholen Haokip s/o Hetheng Haokip of New Keithelmanbi was also felicitated with the Helen Memorial Award, 2007 consisting of a citation of honour and a cash prize of Rs 1000 for securing the highest mark in Thadou Kuki subject in HSLC examination 2007 from among all the appearing candidates of Sadar Hills.
Miss Chinnunnem Haokip d/o Paokhosei Haokip of Phoibih village, who secured the 20th position by securing a total mark aggregate of 80.1 percent in the HSSLC examination, 2007 was honoured with Jamkhothang Lotzem Memorial Award, 2007 while Thangminlun Lenthang s/o Thanglal Lenthang of S Mongbung village who secured highest mark in Thadou Kuki subject in the same examination was honoured with Lalkhopao Singsit Memorial Award, 2007.Both the awards carry citation of honour and cash reward of Rs 1000 each.
The Best School Award, 2007 was presented to St Vincent's School, Pangmol for its outstanding performance in the HSLC examination while the Best Higher Secondary School Award, 2007 was presented to HM Higher Secondary School, Keithelmanbi for its incredible performance in the Higher Secondary Examination, 2007 conducted by COHSEM.
MLA Sapam Kunjakishore (Keba) from and MAFYF president Sapamcha Kangleipal were respectively chief guest and guest of honour of the function which was presided over by PS Tonghen Kipgen on behalf of MLA Haokholet Kipgen who could not be present at the occasion.
