The Kuki Students' Organisation, General Headquarters (KSO-GHQ) today submitted a memorandum to Manipur Governor SS Sidhu to look into the long felt aspirations of the Kuki community in regard to quality education and Industrial Training Institute (ITI) establishment.
The representation of KSO (GHQ) president Tonghen Kipgen and its vice president Lunkhosei Touthang said that for imparting quality education to students, establishment of Jawahar Novadaya Vidyalaya at Kangpokpi and at Moreh should pave the way which will take educational development at a new height.
At the same time, it said that to tackle unemployment problems there is a need to establish Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Sadar Hills and Chandel district thereby imparting technical knowhow and vocational trainings to the unemployed youths, and added that several representation has been made to the State Government in the past but has turn a blind eye to the aspiration of the unemployed youths in Sadar Hills and in Chandel district.
The apex body of the Kuki students urged the Governor to initiate necessary actions for approval and sanction during his tenure.
