Imphal, November 03:
Accusing DI N Everest Luikham who is also in charge of DDO at ZEO Ukhrul of gross irregularities and corrupt practices, the All School Staff Association Under ZEO (ASSAUZ) Ukhrul has demanded disciplinary action and transfer of the DI.
In this regard, a memorandum has been submitted to the Commissioner of Education (S).
According to the memorandum, a copy of which has been released to the press, DI/DDO N Everest was directly involved in the adhoc fake appointment racket in Ukhrul district.
Even though he was suspended once for the same reason, he manipulated things and escaped from any punitive action.
The DI/DDO is also responsible for the deduction of the pay scale of more than 20 Headmasters of Junior High Schools/LP Schools while preparing list for MGEL.
N Everest also deducted/collected Rs 1000 each from 385 employees for preparation of MGEL.
Moreover, taking advantage of his position as DDO in-charge of ZEO Ukhrul, he deducted 15 percent while disbursing bills of arrears entitled to employees including adhoc employees.
When some employees raised objections to his fraudulent practices, he not only dismissed the objections in most blatant manner but also threatened the employees.
Against two sanctioned posts for a particular Aided LP School, the DI/DDO prepared pay bill four teachers, mentioned the memorandum.
It also accused the ZEO Ukhrul of deliberately turning away from the corrupt practices of the DI despite repeated complaints.
Appealing for immediate corrective measures, the Association urged that the DI be transferred away from ZEO Ukhrul while the corrective measures are being initiated.
The memorandum was jointly signed by 17 Headmasters/Headmistresses.
