Imphal, September 06: NSCN (K) has claimed the responsibility of killing the town commander of the rival faction NSCN (I-M) identified as one self styled Lieutenant Angam Chiru of Lamdangmei Village at Uripok last night.

A spokesman of the NSCN (K) told The Sangai Express today that Angam was �arrested� from a wine-vendor at North AOC area at around 6 pm yesterday while he was campaigning against NSCN (K) and later punished him in accordance with his crime.

The spokesman charged Angam and his accomplices with carrying out campaigns among the people against extending co-operation to NSCN (K) and threatening them with dire consequences if they entertain any monetary demand from NSCN (K).

He was arrested for questioning and later awarded capital punishment according to his crimes, the spokesman reiterated.

The spokesman asserted that NSCN (K) has never interfered and prevailed upon the people not to entertain monetary demand made by NSCN (I-M) as it is the obligation of the people whether to fulfil it or not.

It is very unfortunate that the NSCN (I-M) has been campaigning against such stand of the people, he said.
