Imphal, December 30: Cutting across community and religious barriers several organisations have conveyed warm wishes to the people of manipur on the arrival of the Gaan-ngai, Id-ul-zuha, New Year (2007) and Imoinu festivals all falling on January 1, 2007.Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee and party MP in the Lok Sabha Dr Th Meinya conveying warm wishes on the arrival of the New Year, Gaan-Ngai, Id-ul-zuha and Imoinu hoped that celebration of the festivals would fill hearts of mankind with new hopes and aspiration.

Former Chief Minister W Nipamacha Singh on behalf of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Manipur conveyed New Year, Gaan-Ngai, Id-ul-zuha and Imoinu festival wishes. �I express my profound happiness to the people of Manipur that the year 2007 will bring development in all dimension political, social and economically by rooting out criminal elements from the contemporary society,� said Nipamacha in his new Year message.

In his new year message, GOC 57 Mountain Division Maj Gen EJ Kochekkan called upon the people to shun path of violence while exhorting youths of the State to chanellise their energy towards promotion of peace and prosperity in the State.

Wishing the New Year herald an era of tranquility, the GOC also conveyed of working with general public.

Further greeting people of Manipur on the arrival of Gaan-Ngai, Id and Imoinu, the RJD State unit president hoped that celebration of the festivals would strengthen the unity among different ethnic groups settled in Manipur.

Imphal East united Clubs' Organisation (Old Checkon Bazar) conveying its warm wishes to all religious section of the society noted that celebration of the New Year, Gaan-Ngai, Id-ul-joha and Imouni on a single day is a God-send message to renew inter-community ties and work for the over-all betterment of the society.

Zeliangrong Cultural Council and Zeliangrong Religious Council (Zeliang-rong Rachapriak Phom), Assam Manipur & Nagaland also wished the people on the occasion of Gaan-Ngai.

Gaan-Ngai Celebration Committee highlighting religious and traditional rituals associated with Gaan-Ngai festival hoped that the occasion as well as celebration of Imoinu and Id festivities bring peace and development to the people of manipur.

The Meetei national Assembly also joined in wishing people of the Zeliangrong community the very best of Gaan-Ngai festival celebration.

Kuki Students' Organisation wishing a very prosperous and peaceful New Year 2007 to student bodies like the AMSU, ATSUM and ANSAM expressed confidence that the New year would usher an era of better cooperation and relationship among the bodies for peace in the State.

National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO) and All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) also expressed their heartfelt greetings to the people on the arrival of the festive occasion.
