MU literary meet begins

Imphal, September 24: The 13th Manipur University Inter-College Literary Meet 2007 has begun from today at the Senate Hall of the University.

The inaugural function of the event being organised by Manipur University Inter-College Literary Meet Organising Committee was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University Prof H Nandakumar Sharma as chief guest, Dean of Students Welfare of the University Prof Md Islamuddin as functional president and president of Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) Ch Rupachandra as guest of honour.

In all 33 students from 15 different colleges under the Manipur University are participating in the literary meet which started off with poetry recitation on the theme of patriotism.

On the second and concluding day tomorrow, patriotic song competition was would be held and prizes would be distributed among the winners of the literary competitions.

Musicologist B Jayentakumar, Dean of Students Welfare, MU Md Islamuddin and president of Manipur University Teachers' Association Prof M Ranjit would grace the valedictory and prize distribution function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
