Imphal, August 22:
In a brutally frank appraisal of the situation within the proscribed KCP senior member of the outfit, Lamphel Luwangcha today stated that the people no longer regard the KCP as a revolutionary organisation but a rag tag army existing only for the purpose of extortion and intimidating the public.
In a statement, Lamphel said that destructive elements who have donned the mask of the KCP should realise that other revolutionary organisations are closely watching their activities and if they decide to strike out it would spell doom for the outfit.
Castigating the KCP (MC), Lamphel said that it was formed under the grand announcement that they would unify the outfit.
However instead of saving or reviving the outfit, it is time to study to what level the KCP (MC) has dragged down the name of the KCP.
There is no doubt that they are using the name of KCP for their personal agenda, said the statement.
Today the KCP (MC) is a divided house with three groups using the same name, said Lamphel and detailed them as the group led by Mangoljao alias Shamu with I Taibangnganba as AO finance, Lamyanba commander in chief and Khanamba, district commander.
The group led by Nanao/Khelen (Lanheiba) has Lanchenba, finance secretary, Khoirangba project officer.
The group led by Rabi alias Paikhomba has Paikhomba as project officer, Wanglen Luwangcha and Wanglen.
Other than these 8 people, there is also another group of the KCP (MC) led by Nando, who is currently in jail on charge of being involved in the kidnapping and killing of Baby Lungnila Elizabeth, said Lamphel.
The members of this group are Tamnganba, Wanglen Khuman, Angousana and Ibungo Ngangom.
Nando directs his men over the mobile phone from inside the jail to extort from the public.
Next month more people can form another group of KCP (MC) to extort.
Lamphel urged those in the KCP (MC), who have any genuine concern for the KCP to ponder over their next course of action.
At this point of time all should work towards forging a united KCP, said Lamphel and added that if the advisors of the outfit do not act in accordance with the ethics of revolutionaries, then they may lose the respect of Lamphel.
To negate the perception of the people who have now come to regard the KCP as a group of hooligans out to loot the public, the need of the hour is to work towards uniting the outfit, said Lamphel.
It is also important that the KCP work in close tandem with the outfits which are keen to help them unite, said Lamphel and asked all not to commercialise and tarnish the name of the KCP.
