No let up in demand to free TIPS, AMMOCOC men

Imphal, Sep 19: A public meeting held at Yairipok Ba zar today reiterated unconditional release of TIPS functionaries L Umakanta and Y Thabi, and auditor of AMMOCOC Md Hussien.

The gathering decrying stubborn stance of the State Government inspite of vociferous demand for release of the trio, also warned that bandh and more stringent form of agitation will be resorted to wake the Government from its deep slumber.

However, no exact schedule was announced for the agitation programme as the matter will be discussed at a later jneeting.

The public session was jointly organised by United Muslim Organisation, All Manipur Muslim Organisation and All Manipur Muslim Organisation Coordinating Committee.

Owing, to Hussien's detention, the proposed inauguration of the newly constructed UMO slated for September 21 has been put off till a conducive atmosphere prevails, said UMO members.

Meanwhile, youth and women organisations continued to raise strong demand for early and unconditional release of the three.
