Imphal, March 19 2010:
Chief minister Okram Ibobi met the Governor of Manipur, Gurbachan Jagat around 3.30 pm today and held an hour-long meeting with him.
The meeting went on without anyone else except the Governor and the Chief Minister, reliable sources said.
The sources said that it was a routine meeting during which the Chief Minister, O Ibobi briefed the Governor on the meeting of finalising the plan size of Manipur held with the Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission of India, Montek Singh Ahluwalia at Yojna Bhavan, New Delhi on March 17 .
It is understood that the Chief Minister told the Governor that though the Planning Commission had not agreed to give the exact annual plan outlay proposed by the state government, the Planning Commission had been considerate towards Manipur's request and agreed to give Rs 2,600 crore.
The plan outlay includes Rs 800 crore of Special Plan Assistance.
Other matters connected with finance might have also been discussed.
At the same time, observers feel that the Chief Minister and the Governor might have talked about a reshuffle in the Council of Ministers.
However, it couldn't be confirmed.
Yet, certain changes in the Council of Ministers may be effected after the financial year ends this month, the observers believed.
