In a meeting with the representatives of Land Eviction Victims' Welfare Women's Committee, MLAs RK Do-rendra and I Hemochandra today, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has assured not to impose the minimum set back line under bye law 24 of Imphal Municipality Building Bye Law 1969 along NH-39 from Krishna Premi Oil Pump to IMC limits.
A statement issued by the women body informed that during the meeting attended by Works Minister K Govindas it was urged to initiate immediate measures to redress inconveniences caused by the highway expansion plan like water logging in the wake of the onset of monsoon.
Chief Minister O Ibobi gave verbal assurance that the notification issued by IMC on May 4 concerning minimum set back line of 10 feet would not be implemented, conveyed the committee.
Moreover a memorandum was also submitted to the Chief Minister regarding rehabilitation of eviction victims by providing land to those rendered landless, shops to the displaced shopkeepers and adequate compensation on priority basis.
