Imphal, October 12 2009:
With special focus on detection of cancer among people of Jiribam, a free medical camp was held at Community Health Centre, Jiribam on October 10 .
The medical camp was conducted by a 13-member team of RIMS doctors led by Superintendent Y Mohen.
Altogether 200 women were screened for cancer infection during the camp.
Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology was conducted on eight women.
Lady doctors examined the possibility of the growth of cervical cancer.
Dr Y Mohen said that the team discovered death of three women of Kadamtala, Jiribam due to cancer.
He also conveyed gratitude to staff of CHC Silchar for their support and cooperation during the medical camp.
