Imphal, October 09 2009: Alleging that the decision taken by guardians of students of KM Blooming School, Khangabok and some other schools of the surrounding area which openly challenged the 'stop education' movement, was a conspiracy of some hardline political workers of Chief Minister O Ibobi, the AMSU, MSF and KSA have appealed to the guardians to re-consider their alleged biased decision.

A joint statement issued by the three student bodies pointed out that it is not only the students of KM Blooming School and Khangabok who could not study in schools but a large number of students belonging to different places have been staying away from their schools.

The meeting organised by some hardline supporters of Ibobi, donning the role of guardians of students of KM Blooming and some other schools of the surrounding area, and the decision adopted thereat were highly biased and anti-people.

The decision smacks of a mean mind-set guided by a selfish thought that other children may suffer but their children must enjoy uninterrupted formal education.

Attempts to conduct and attend classes against the continuing people's movement is nothing but supporting the alleged killing spree unleashed by Chief Minister O Ibobi.

Noting that schools have been suspending classes in solidarity to the people's movement despite the assurance of police for security arrangement, the student bodies declared that those few guardians scheming at the behest of O Ibobi and Landhoni are enemies of the people.

The student bodies clarified that they do not have grudge against all guardians of students of KM Blooming School and other schools of Khangabok.

Pointing out that conducting or suspending classes should be decided by students and teachers but not guardians, the student bodies appealed to the school authorities to take a firm decision that would be viable till posterity.

Students passing out from KM Blooming School and surrounding schools would not be allowed admission in other schools.

Saying that names of other schools defying the people's movement together with KM Blooming School would be disclosed to the public, the student bodies stated their decision against defiant schools would be applicable even after the people's movement subsided.

While welcoming the appeals coming different sections for a joint session to discuss about the students who are now unable to attend classes, the AMSU, MSF and KSA maintained that they cannot discuss the matter until KM Blooming School and other defiant schools of the surrounding area are taught a befitting lesson.

The student bodies called upon the guardians not invite troubles to their young students for the sake of money and contract works.

Saying that educational institutions are not their targets nor jeopardising careers of students their objectives, the student bodies clarified that the 'stop education' movement was launched under compelling conditions.

They cautioned guardians of students of KM Blooming School and other defiant schools to work hard not to see the day when they have to tender apology to the public through media.

Hailing the Manipur Human Rights Commission for its bold stance, the student bodies appealed to the public to extend full cooperation to the commission.
