Imphal, May 08:
Despaired at the 'unexpected statements' of Heikrujam Momocha and Taorem Hemanta before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Chandel the duo's parents would file further application before the Gauhati High Court.
The parents alleged that the Assam Rifles authorities have brain-washed their children only to redeem lost prestige of the armed forces, said advocate Meihoubam Rakesh appearing on behalf of the petitioners.
In the earlier main writ (habeas corpus) petitions the parents accused the AR authorities of illegally confining their children after the they (children) were lured by some self-styled recruitment agents with promises to ensure enrolment in the para-military force.
It may be mentioned that the two on being produced before the CJM, Chandel on May 5 and 6 had expressed to stay with the Assam Rifles.
After collecting all relevant documents from their parents to over rule statements of the two youths I'll file the Misc application before the High Court very soon, said the advocate.
In the meantime, the High Court is set to hear the case of one Md Hussain tomorrow after advocate Naorem Umakanta Singh, appearing on behalf of Hussain's father Md Hessamuddin of Paobitek in Thoubal district, apprised the court to reproduce Hussain before the same Magistrate.
Providing a background on the case, the counsel said the writ petition (habeas corpus) was filed earlier before the HC by Hessamuddin contending that his son has been wrongfully confined in the AR custody after being taken away by self-styled recruiting agents with assurance of job in the Assam Rifles.
Hussain, it may be noted was produced before the CJM, Chandel on May by the AR authority but was taken back to its custody on ground that he admitted of voluntarily surrendering along with arms.
The present Misc case said that the AR produced Hussain in the absence of the petitioner's lawyer and the petitioner (father).
