All set for IMC vote count today

Imphal, Jun 01: Counting of votes for 27 wards of Imphal Municipal Council elections held yesterday will be done tomorrow.

To ensure smooth and free counting of votes, all necessary arrangements have been made at the DC offices of Imphal West and Imphal East.

Moreover restrictions under CrPC 144 have been imposed in and around the counting sites since 4 pm today till the completion of counting tomorrow.

The restrictions do not encompass poll related activities.

For the 7 wards (ward nos 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 26) of Imphal East counting will be done at the Panchayat Bhavan within the premises of the DC office, Porompat.

The vote count will be conducted by 10 counting agents uninterrupted until all the results are declared, informed the Returning Officer.

As for Imphal West, counting for the 20 wards would be done at its DC complex of Lamphelpat.

Here too 10 counting agents would be engaged in counting votes for 11 wards which include ward nos 1 to 10.For the remaining ward nos 11 to 17 and ward nos 24, 26 and 27, another 10 counting agents would be entrusted to do counting.

The counting which would commence from 8 am tomorrow will go on round the clock until it is completed fully, disclosed the RO.
