Three MLAs elected on RJD tickets were accorded a warm reception today at the Babupara office of the RJD State unit.
The three RJD MLAs are Hellaluddin Khan of Lilong A/C, Thangkholun Haokip of Chandel A/C and Ngursanglur of Tipaimukh A/C.Speaking at the felicitation ceremony, RJD State unit president Wahengbam Nipamacha asked whether all the disputes within CLP can be resolved for good by not giving a ministerial berth to SPF partner RJD.
Reminding that RJD was the first party to extend support to Congress just as the election results were declared, Nipamacha informed that he would leaving for Delhi tomorrow to urge the central leaders for inclusion of atleast one RJD MLA in the SPF Council of Ministers.
With the success of three RJD candidates in the Assembly elections, the RJD, which was earlier treated as a regional party, has been able to attain the status of a National party, claimed the former Chief Minister.
Disclosing that the National leaders were reluctant to campaign for elections in Manipur as they were sceptical of the success of RJD candidates, Nipamacha lamented that more RJD candidates would have won the elections had the central leaders came for election campaign in the State.
Conveying hope that the RJD MLAs would act in line to the party's manifesto, he clarified that there is no misunderstanding on the selection of the party's legislature wing leader.
Regarding the placement of RJD MLAs' seats in the rear of treasury bench, Chief Minister O Ibobi has admitted of certain mistake, while assuring to rectify the mistake ahead of the next Assembly session, conveyed Nipamacha.
RJD Legislature wing leader Hellaluddin Khan while exuding confidence that the Congress party would certainly accept their demand, pledged that he would work to strengthen the party.
He informed that he would urge the central party leaders to field former Chief Minister W Nipamacha in the next parliamentary elections.
Taking strong exception to keeping away of RJD MLAs from SPF Steering Committee meeting, MLA Ngursanglur observed that the matter should be intimated to the central leaders so that RJD MLAs can participate in the high-level deliberation on State issues.
MLA Thangkholun said that he would make all efforts to strengthen the party and he would abide by the decision adopted by the RJD leadership.
