Myanmar and India today agreed to conduct a joint survey of border pillars between the two countries during an official meeting held at the Immigration Office in Namphalong, Myanmar.
The meeting agreed to form a joint inspection team to restore missing pillars, repair, reconstruct and maintain the border pillars.
The team will visit BP 73 on Nov 14 as their first assignment in which the Indian side will be led by Surveyor Officer AK Battacharya while the Myanmarese team will be led by Survey Dept Camp Officer, Hla Thaung.
It is reported that the missing BP 73 will be re-erected after which repairing and restoration works of BPs 101, 114(1), 114 (2), 114(3), 115(1), 115(2), 116 and 117 would be taken up.
