Tamenglong, March 01:
The proscribed PULF has celebrated the 1st anniversary of its AK battalion at a place in Barak valley with the commanding officer of the HQ AK Battalion and its cadres.
Speaking on the occasion, the CO disclosed that its cadre Md Azam Khan of Yairipok Changamdabi committed the supreme sacrifice while fighting enemy soldiers at a tea estate in Assam.
Taking the initials of Azam Khan, the battalion was set up on March 5, last year and Duha (prayer) ceremony is celebrated as per the custom of Islam for the martyred cadres of PULF, he mentioned.
He observed that Manipuri Muslims have been taking an active role in the social and political movements of Manipur as is proved by the administration of late Chief Minister Allimudin.
He iterated that no single community would be able to bring about integrity in Manipur which in turn necessitates unification of all ethnic groups and communities.
The CO observed that it is the objective of PULF to bring unity among all the revolutionary groups of Manipur fighting for sovereignty of the State.
Our disunity provides a big advantage to the Indian army, he added.
The CO reiterated its stand to fight relentlessly to regain the freedom of Manipur.
Not only that, PULF is all prepared to wage a 'jehad' to retain the age-old territorial structure of Manipur and to decolonise the State from the clutch of India, he added.
He further disclosed that many cadres from outside Manipur have joined the outfit in its fight against occupation forces.
While expressing hope that people and other revolutionary groups would extend cooperation to the outfit, the CO maintained that it would prove far better to join hands rather than attacking one another amongst ourselves.
