Imphal, May 14: All necessary security arrangements for ensuring a free and fair polling for the rescheduled/repoll at Jiribam and Vangai Range have been completed, disclosed a source from State Police Department.

Sources further informed that a total of about 5000 Manipur Rifles, IRB and BSF personnel will be manning the 13 polling stations at Vangai Range and 8 at Jiribam.

Informing that a high level police team led by ADGP Y Joykumar who is also the overall security in charge of the State's 14th Lok Sabha security arrangements is presently camping at Jiribam overseeing the necessary security arrangements for the polls, source said that security personnel will be leaving Jiribam for Vangai Range tomorrow.

Eighty security personnel would be allotted to each polling station while the remaining personnel would be providing area coverage, added the source.

It may be noted here that extra security measures have been taken for the 14th Lok Sabha elections following the boycott call issued by various underground outfits.
