On the eve of Christmas, the Governor Dr SS Sidhu has greeted the people of Manipur, specially the Christian community.
In his message, the Governor said 'principles upheld by Lord Jesus may guide mankind to build a more compassionate society and a more peaceful world'.
In his Christmas greetings, Chief Minister O Ibobi remarked that every person who believes in God irrespective of caste, creed and religion should be a messenger of peace, goodwill and love.
The Kuki Mothers' Association has also wished all the senior citizens and mothers of Manipur a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
In a Christmas message, the Christ Fellowship Church, MG Avenue Imphal wished that Christmas usher in an era of peace, prosperity and oneness amongst all the communities of Manipur.
Let the coming Christmas, New Year and Idul Zuha uproot the culture of violence and conflict and usher in an era of peace and harmony in the pluralistic society of Manipur, said a message issued by Senior Citizens For Society.
In his message on the eve of Christmas, GOC 57 Mountain Division Maj Gen EJ Kochekkan prayed that this festival mar herald peace in Manipur ending any form of strife.
He wished that the coming New Year may bring about a new dawn over the State.
May this Christmas foster a spirit of tolerance and brotherhood amongst the people and bring about prosperity in the region, said IG AR (S) Maj Gen BK Chengapa in his message.
