Imphal, December 22: The UNLF and its armed wing MPA has paid revolutionary salutes to Lance Corporal Tongbram Kongyamba alias Dhanajit of Moirang Laisoi Khul who was shot dead by Assam Rifles in the night of December 17.A statement issued by UNLF's senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba asserted that L/Cpl Kongyamba was killed in cold blood in frustration as the MPA cadre refused to divulge any information about the outfit.

The corpse was handed over to Moirang Police with the fabricated report that the MPA cadre was killed in retaliatory firing.

While paying revolutionary salutes to Kongyamba who refused to break down till his last breath even as he had fallen in the hands of 'enemy forces', the outfit prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace in the bosom of the motherland.

It also shared the pain and grief being endured by the bereaved family.
