Imphal, April 22: To ensure smooth conduct of the 5th the Great June Uprising Day observance 2006 on June 18, a joint meeting of all the component organisations of UCM, its units and other social organisations was held at the Kekrupat Construction Committee Office today.

The meeting convened by UCM was held with its president Konsam Langamba in the chair.

After a series of deliberation, the meeting narrowed down on setting up observation committee and other sub-committees which would be assigned different tasks for success of the observance like every year.

The meeting also elected K Langamba as chairman of the observation committee, UCM vice president Y Chittaranjan as vice chairman and UCM secretary general O Hemanta as convenor.

At the very outset of the meeting, a two minutes silence was observed by all the participants as mark of respect to Maibam Manimacha Singh who passed away recently.
